Voting Terms

These Voting Terms are owned and operated by GO p.l.c. (‘GO’) of Triq Fra Diegu, Marsa, MRS 1501, Malta and relate exclusively to the Tokis Awards (‘Awards’).

A. GENERAL GUIDELINES:

You are eligible to vote so long as you are eighteen (18) years or older.

You can vote for the Tokis Awards exclusively via the respective voting forms available on www.go.com.mt (the ‘Website’)

The voting process shall take place in two(2) stages. The first stage begins in July 2024, allowing viewers to nominate their favourite eligible contenders in the following six (6) categories:

  1. Best Actor
  2. Best Actress
  3. Best Upcoming Local Talent
  4. Best Theme Song GO Originals
  5. Best Director
  6. All Time Favourite Award

For the first three categories, you can vote for any person on the show. You will need to select the production name and type out the name of the person you would like to vote for. While minor spelling mistakes will be ignored, incorrect names or surnames, inputting character names, or mismatching persons with the wrong show will invalidate your vote.

In all cases, voting should be done on the basis of talent and execution, impact on the show, impact and lasting impression on you.

In the second stage of voting, up to three shortlisted contenders will be featured, having received the most votes in each category from the first round of voting . Voting for this second stage will start in August 2024.

GO will also be giving an award for the following two (2) categories which are not open for public voting and which shall be based solely on viewership. These are:

  1. Most Views on Tokis (To be announced by GO Plc)
  2. Most Views on GO Originals (To be announced by GO Plc)

B. VOTING TIMES:

The vote for the first stage of the Awards shall open on the Thursday, 4th of July 2024 and close on Monday 29th July 2024.

The vote for the second stage of the Awards shall open on Wednesday 21st August 2024 and close on Saturday 31st August 2024.

Votes made or received outside of these specified times will not be considered.

C. VOTING RESTRICTIONS:

At both voting stages, one may vote in as many categories as one wishes, but only one vote for a single contender is allowed within each category. Any votes placed after the first vote will not be considered, even if the first vote is invalid due to a mistake on your part.

GO, the Awards, their subcontractors, subsidiaries, and/or agencies are committed to ensuring fair viewer voting and preventing abuse of their systems. GO reserves the right to disqualify votes if it or its agents have reasonable grounds to suspect, considering all circumstances and information available at the relevant time, that fraudulent voting has occurred with the intent to manipulate the outcome of the vote or otherwise.

D. VOTING DETAILS:

Visit www.go.com.mt/tokis-awards-2024/ and follow the instructions given on the GO Website. You will be required to provide your name and your email address which shall be verified to validate your vote and ensure the integrity of the voting process and the Awards.

E. VOTING RESULTS:

At each stage, the result of the votes will be based on the total of all valid votes received via all valid voting methods and by the closing date and time.

Up to three (3) contenders with the highest number of votes in the nomination stage from each of the eight (8) categories will go forward to be included in a shortlist of nominated contenders (the “Finalists”). In the event that two or more contenders receiving the same number of votes, the tied contenders will all be put forward for the second stage of voting which will commence in August 2024.

The results of the second stage of voting will determine the final result for each category.

The results and winners for each category, including those Awards selected exclusively by GO, shall be announced on GO’s Tokis channel and on Social Media Platforms during the Tokis Awards Programme which shall be broadcast at a later date.

F. GENERAL:

In the event of a technical failure or other circumstance beyond the GO’s reasonable control that affects the vote, or any other decision which the vote would have determined, GO will calculate the outcome of the vote having regard to all circumstances and information available to them at the relevant time.

Incomplete votes or those submitted by macros or other automated means together with votes which do not satisfy the requirements of these Terms in full will be disqualified and will not be counted. If it becomes apparent that a voter is using computer(s) to circumvent this condition by, for example, the use of ‘script’, ‘brute force’, masking their identity by manipulating IP addresses, using identities other than their own or any other automated means in order to increase that individual’s votes in a way that is not consistent with these Terms, that individual’s votes will be disqualified.

GO and their sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure, interruption or malfunction or any other problem with any broadband network, system, server, provider, software or otherwise which may result in any votes not being properly received, registered or recorded and GO will not be held liable in any such event.

If you attempt to compromise the integrity or the legitimate operation of this vote by hacking or by cheating or committing fraud in any way, GO may seek damages from you to the fullest extent permitted by law. Further, GO may ban you from participating in any of its future voting, so please play fairly.

Any and all personal data supplied will be used solely for the purpose of voting by GO and/or by any sub-contractors or agents appointed by it to assist on its behalf and will not be disclosed to a third party for any other purpose unless your positive consent has been obtained. Your personal data will be handled in accordance with GO’s privacy policy, available at: https://www.go.com.mt/privacy-policy.
If any provisions of these Terms are judged to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, this will not affect or impact the continuation in full force and effect the remainder of the provisions.
